A few years ago there was probably around 1-2% less women than men who moved back. I think it’s changing now and mainly because of urban environment, which is in a way more attractive for men. It’s quite clear that the Faroese community is relatively... I don’t know if you can say “dominant” male culture. It’s influenced by fishing, hunting, whale catching and during these weeks slaughtering (sheep). You collect all the sheep from the mountains these days and slaughter them. Of course, women are very involved in that – but you can say that the “café culture” is not so dominant here and that’s something that a lot of women miss.”
